Getting to know  Dr. McCarter and her team will be a fun and enjoyable experience for you, your child, and us. We will review your child’s history, and make sure you are comfortable with our procedures and staff.

When should I take my child to Dr. McCarter for the first time?

The American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry both recommend that a child see a dentist within six months of the first tooth appearing or by their first birthday.  This should be the beginning of a positive relationship that will last through college.  It also allows us to monitor growth and development and intercept any problems while they are still simple and easier to treat.  We accept patients from infancy through college.

What to Expect

Your initial visit will provide a caring, friendly introduction to our amazing team.  The time you and your child spend with us will be focused on the instruction of proper hygiene techniques, growth and development evaluations, as well as a comprehensive exam that will outline existing dental or orthodontic concerns.

A thorough consult with Dr. McCarter at the end of each appointment will help both patient and parent share an understanding of your child’s oral health.
