Dr. John C. Williams

|
Dr. Williams, a
native of Humboldt, has been affiliated with West Tennessee
Pediatric Dental Group since 1988. He received his undergraduate
degree from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He attended
dental school at The University of Tennessee Memphis and graduated
in 1986. He completed a General Practice Residency at The University
of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville in 1987. After working
with Dr. Duncan C. McInnis at West Tennessee Pediatric Dental Group
as a general dentist, Dr. Williams moved back to Memphis to pursue a
specialty degree. He received his Master’s Degree in Pediatric
Dentistry in 1991. Dr. Williams’ specialty training included work
at St. Joseph’s and LeBonheur hospitals as well as clinical and
didactic work at UT Memphis. He completed his masters thesis on
temporomandibular disorders in children.
Dr. Williams and his
wife, Michelle, moved back to Jackson in 1991. Dr. Williams is
active in the American Dental Association and the American Academy
of Pediatric Dentistry. He has served on committees at the local
and state level in both organizations. He is also an associate
professor at The University of Tennessee, Memphis. Dr.
Williams volunteered at the Developmental Disabilities Dental Clinic
until it closed in 2006. He has continued his volunteer work at the
Health and Healing Clinic since its inception.
Dr. Williams enjoys spending time with his wife and
three children: Jake, Emily, and Jeff. He also enjoys activities
at church, playing golf, hunting, and reading.

Dr. Jennifer W. Welch

|
Dr. Jennifer
Welch graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum
laude with a degree in biology/psychology from Birmingham-Southern
College. She then attended dental school at The University of
Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry. While in dental school,
Dr. Welch received the Alabama State Dental Board Merit Scholarship
Award all four years. She was also inducted into the Omicron Kappa
Upsilon National Scholastic Honor Society, awarded to students with
high moral character and in the top of their class academically.
After dental
school, Dr. Welch’s love of treating children led her to complete an
additional two year residency program to specialize in Pediatric
Dentistry at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
During her pediatric dental residency she received extensive
clinical, emergency, and hospital training. She performed pediatric
dental surgery at LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center and Crittendon Regional
Hospital. Dr. Welch also had the privilege of treating children from
all over the world at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Dr. Welch is passionate about pediatric dentistry and is very active
in the dental profession. She holds a specialty license from the
Tennessee State Dental Board which allows her to practice pediatric
dentistry in Tennessee. She is a member of the American Dental
Association (ADA), and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD).
Dr. Welch has passed the first part of the board certification
process with the AAPD.
When Dr.
Welch isn’t taking care of kid’s teeth, she enjoys traveling,
outdoor activities, college football, and spending time with family
and friends. Dr. Welch, her husband, Todd, and daughter, Olivia,
enjoy living in Jackson, Tennessee.
